Mission and Vision

Mission
Youth Leadership Development Program of Houston is a non-profit organization that helps high school juniors and seniors from the Greater Houston Area, of Indo-American (India) origin, to develop leadership Skills and attributes through established successful local organizations, accomplished leaders and community service projects.
The specific objectives of YLDP of Houston are to:

  • · Develop core leadership skills in students
  • · Facilitate business, scientific, social, political and cultural community leadership exposure
  • · Engage with accomplished leaders
  • · Create a peer group to foster exchange of ideas and build relationships
  • · Serve community and philanthropic service providers
  • · Provide opportunities to make verbal presentations and publish articles
  • · Raise student visibility in the community
The word “Indo-American” shall refer to the natives or descendants of India, or persons whose heritage is rooted in Asia. In future, this program may be expanded to consider all qualified students from Greater Houston area.

Nurture emerging Indo-American leaders to succeed in business, philanthropy, science, culture and government.
